What is TuffToe and Do I Need It?Baseball and softball players wear out the toe of their shoes by dragging their toe while pitching, sliding, or throwing the ball. This dragging of the shoe's toe in the dirt or grass puts a signficant amount of stress on cleats and can lead to accelerated wear and tear. TuffToe (tufftoe.com/baseball-softball) has been providing protection to baseball and softball players at all levels for over 40 years. It is the go-to application for Major League Baseball pitchers to protect their shoes/cleats from the wear and tear caused by the toe drag. Custom Cleats applies TuffToe as a thick 2-part epoxy/polyurethane and its cures/dries to form a durable yet flexible protective layer with a permanent bond. Many pitchers apply the TuffToe solely to one cleat - the one that drags in the dirt during the pitching windup. However, the TuffToe can be applied to both shoes to provide protection to both cleats and for a more uniform look. In addition, non-pitchers and non-baseball/softball players can also choose TuffToe to provide protection to the toes of their shoes. In fact, TuffToe is used by first responders, construction workers, and skate boarders. We can apply TuffToe protection to any shoe to give you the protection you need for your kicks!
