" Great plays and great friends - my son made them both, wearing low cut basketball shoes that had been converted by Custom Cleats. My son has cerebral palsy. He wears a brace on his left leg. " THESE ARE A GAME CHANGER!!! Montreal Expos, Florida marlins (1999-2008) In spring training 2000 I broke a small tendon off the outside of my foot and a tiny bone that would bang into it causing extreme pain on making sharp turns. I could run a straight in line but I couldn't make the cuts I needed in the outfield. I was just coming off my second elbow surgery after getting drafted by the Montreal expos in the 6th round and as most people know if you do not play you cannot compete for a job when the season opens. Surgery on my foot was not an option and I needed to look elsewhere to find a way to play on my broken foot. That is when I found Custom Cleats Inc. I played that next season with my broken foot not only without pain but when the end of the season came and they did x-rays, my foot healed on its own!!!!!! " EXCELLENT idea/concept...as a former college and eventual professional baseball player in the Montreal Expos organization, I can only wish that this was available to me during my career. Being at the mercy of your typical big or small name manufacturers for comfort can and was very frustrating at times. Sure, there is a large selection of some tremendous sport specific footwear on the market but this concept is truly magnificent due to the fact that athletes are now allowed such a broad range of options. Playing any sport, especially at the professional level, is extremely demanding on any athlete not only from a physiological standpoint but from a cognitive aspect as well. I cannot express the importance I placed on finding footwear not only from an aesthetic aspect as well as for reliability purposes but comfort always took priority. The cognitive abilities required to excel at any level are truly amazing and limiting any and all outside distractions is paramount...hence my feeling on the importance of finding comfortable footwear for example which in turn helps to limit any possible added and undue stress on the mind. The ability to focus and master the cognitive side of sport is only enhanced as the athlete is able to avoid possible distractions such as any physical ailment which causes mental stress and ultimately contributes to a lack of optimal performance on all levels. This concept is truly remarkable for any athlete who may find themselves compromising comfort simply because they have may feel as though they have no other option.
